FREE TRAINING: Help Make Sexual Health Services More Accessible in the Vale of Glamorgan
YMCA Cardiff’s Healthy Relationships Team (SHOT) is offering free training this March to help expand access to sexual health services for young people across the Vale of Glamorgan.
The C-Card scheme is a UK-wide sexual health service providing free, confidential advice and essential resources—including condoms, lube, and oral dams—to young people aged 13-25. While many schools and youth provisions are already part of the scheme, gaps remain in certain areas, limiting accessibility for those who need it most.
To address this, YMCA Cardiff is seeking new C-Card outlets, including food banks, sports provisions, and other community spaces where young people feel comfortable accessing these services. The upcoming free training session will equip staff and volunteers with the knowledge and confidence to become certified C-Card assessors, allowing them to provide discreet and professional sexual health support.
