 Volunteer Vacancy

The Service is provided Monday - Friday: Approximately 8:30 to 17:00. We also provide occasional evening and weekend work for group bookings.

We are looking for volunteers aged 21+ who have held a driving licence for a minimum of two years. We have a range of vehicles from accessible cars / electric cars to 12 seater minibuses to provide transport for residents of the Vale of Glamorgan.

The service provides transport as far as Bridgend, Porthcawl, Llantrisant and Cardiff. Greenlinks is open to residents of the Vale of Glamorgan to join.

In order to be able to drive the 3 larger buses a volunteer would need to have a D1 category on their Licence. If they passed their driving test before 1997 (and haven't lost their licence since then) it is automatically on their licence. The vehicles are based at the Alps Depot, Wenvoe. Pick up and drop off will be from the Alps Depot

Time commitment: A suggested time commitment of 4 hours or more (ideally a full day) per fortnight. It is mainly weekdays, however there are some weekends and evenings (if demand). Days are flexible.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed / Volunteer incentives.
Training provided: You will receive a driving assessment and complete an induction process which includes an initial buddying system. MIDAS training is provided in due course.
Selection procedures: An informal discussion, application form completion, references and a DBS check (cost met by organisation).
