Group Lead Volunteer for Scouting

Can you inspire?

We prepare young people with skills for life.  But who supports the volunteers who make this happen?  People like you.

We now need a brilliant volunteer manager to take Scouting forward in your community – Llantwit Major.

As a Group Lead Volunteer, you will offer support to the section teams in 1st Llantwit major.  Thats the volunteers in Beaver, Cubs and Scouts as well as the volunteers who help keep 1st Llantwit Major running in the background.  You will manage adults, set objectives and hold regular one to ones.

Although no Scouting experience is necessary, you will know how to motivate people, produce a group development plan and have the charisma to inspire your team.

Our Scouting values are important to us:

  • Integrity

  • Respect

  • Care

  • Belief

  • Co-operation

Above all, you will believe passionately in Scouting for all, helping Scouting grow, become more inclusive, more youth shaped and make a positive impact in the local community.

It’s a challenging role, but the rewards are huge, improving the outcomes for young people of Llantwit Major and the surrounding area.

1st Llantwit Major Scout Group is part of Tir a Mor Scout District, offering fun, friendship and skills for life to young people across the Vale of Glamorgan.
