Small Grants Scheme for Community Buildings e.g. Community Centres, Village Halls and Church Halls in the Vale of Glamorgan

GVS, with thanks to funding from Cardiff & Vale University Health Board, is administering a small grants scheme to help Community Buildings in the Vale of Glamorgan to assist them during the current Cost of Living Crisis which has seen the rise in utility costs.  

Small grants are available up to a maximum of £500 to EITHER help towards utility bills (gas or electricity) OR up to £1000 to help towards minor capital costs to make your community facility more fuel efficient, for example, help towards draft proofing, installation of insulation.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications is 12noon on Tuesday 4th April 2023.

To be eligible you must satisfy the following criteria:

 

i.                 Your building must be in the Vale of Glamorgan

ii.                Have a constitution or similar governing document

iii.              Your community facility must offer a range of well being activities, e.g, a lunch club, exercise classes, dance classes

iv.              Support for these costs cannot be obtained from other sources, e.g. your local authority or other body.

v.               Agree to supply an “End of Project” report detailing and evidencing how the grant has been spent.

vi.              Agree to acknowledge the support of Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) in any publicity should your application be successful.

 

With your application you must also forward the following:

·       A recent copy of your bank statement

·       A copy of your constitution

·       A copy of the most recent utility bill (if you are applying for support towards this)

·       A copy of the quote for any capital works (if you are applying for support towards this)

Funds must be spent by 30th June 2023

Applications from Community Facilities outside the Vale of Glamorgan or individuals will not be considered.  Grants will not be given for general running costs or to help make up for lost income due to COVID-19.
