Social Group Volunteer

Are you a sociable fun-loving volunteer?

We are looking for a sociable and fun-loving volunteer to help run our groups which are held in Margaret Alexander Community Centre, Barry.  Our singing and social group runs on Thursday mornings from 10.30 - 12.30; our gentle exercise and social group runs on Friday afternoons from 2.30 - 4.00.

The sessions consist of an hour of group singing, or half an hour of gentle exercise, followed by refreshments and an hour of further social activities, for example, quizzes, games or musical performances.  We allow an additional half an hour either side of the session to set up and clear away. 

You will be working with and will be supported by With Music In Mind's paid workers.

The role is flexible, but may include:

• Assisting group members, such as to their seats, or with questions about the group

• Chatting to and listening to group members, encouraging their participation

• Preparing and serving refreshments (hot drinks and cold snacks)

• Participating in and running social activities, such as quizzes and games

• Basic cleaning, such as washing up and wiping surfaces

• Moving of chairs and tables

Time commitment:  The singing and social group takes place on Thursday mornings from 10.30 - 12.30pm and the social group runs on Friday afternoons from 2.30 - 4.00pm
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion and 2 references.
