Volunteer at our Memory Café in Penarth

We are looking for someone aged 18+ to support us at our Memory Café in Penarth.

You will help with a variety of tasks:

• Switch the hot water dispenser on

• Set up in the kitchen – unpack the refreshments bag and line up the supplies on the worktop

• Put cups on the worktop ready for orders

• Offer the wrapped biscuit bars in the box

• Take drink orders from people with a dementia diagnosis and their carers – tea, coffee, sugar, milk, hot chocolate, herbal teas

• Clear away all dishes, wash up, dry and put away

• Wipe down worktops in the kitchen and tables if necessary

• Switch off hot water dispenser

• Re-pack the refreshments bag

 Volunteers are always invited to join in with all of our activities, so you will need to be outgoing enough to do this.

Volunteers need to be accepting of differing presentations both visually and behaviourally for those on their dementia journey.

Time commitment:  Café takes place the second Monday of each month for 3 hours.  30 minutes to set up, 2 hours for group, 30 minutes to clear away.
Expenses reimbursed: Travel expenses are reimbursed.
Training provided: Full training is provided.
Selection procedure: Informal discussion, application form completion and 2 references.
