Skills support and networking
Providing non-financial support for the charities we back is as important to us as the funding. We offer access to a network of skilled, pro-bono volunteers as well as online training workshops and seminars. These opportunities are open to successful charities for life.
Workshops cover a wide range of topics including communications and marketing, fundraising, strategy and legal advice. These are also open to non-portfolio charities. To receive details sign up to our charities mailing list here.
Our pro bono network includes skills support from our corporate partners, and access to our community of 1,000+ skilled professionals – skills available include strategy, business planning, communications, HR, IT and trusteeships
Networking opportunities include matchmaking events to pair you with highly qualified mentors, volunteers, and trustees and invitations to our join our peer-to-peer network of all our portfolio charity leaders.
Impact measurement
Free impact measurement courses are offered to all our portfolio charities
These cover topics such as creating a Theory of Change, collecting the right evidence, and communicating your impact
We also offer shorter, two-hour long impact sessions as part of our workshops programme
Who can apply
We accept applications from registered charities, community interest companies, charitable incorporated organisations and community benefit societies.
Unfortunately we can only accept applications from companies limited by guarantee if they are also Registered Charities or Community Interest Companies. Otherwise, we cannot accept applications from companies limited by guarantee, even if they have other elements associated with social enterprises (such as asset locks, non-distribution clauses or charitable/social purposes).
How to apply
The Fore runs three funding rounds each year – Spring, Summer and Autumn. See the timetable above for all dates.
The first step to applying is to register your interest. Registration is open for one week at the beginning of each funding round (the registration period).
During this time please register your interest on the Apply for Funding page. This takes around 2-3minutes. Only one registration will be accepted per organisation.
Registered applicants will receive confirmation they have been allocated a place on the funding round (confirmation of place on funding round) on the date noted above. Details of how to apply will be included. If you have not heard from us regarding your registration status by 5pm on this date, please double-check your spam/junk folders and contact us at info@thefore.org.
If there are more applicants registered than places available, places will be allocated at random. We sincerely regret if we are not able to offer places to all who register for each funding round. The number of places offered is limited by the amount of funding we have to distribute and our wish to give feedback to every charity that completes an application.
