Bro Radio Picks up Silver at top Radio Awards
The Vale's local radio station, Bro Radio picked up Silver at the 'radio Oscars' in London on Tuesday. Judged by a panel of experts, and organised by The Radio Academy, the ARIAS are the biggest awards in the UK for radio and audio production. The event was hosted by Rylan Clarke and Fleur East and held at London's Theatre Royal Dury Lane, which was filled with the very best of the UK Radio industry.

Rights Ambassadors
The Rights Ambassadors is a universal/open access county-wide youth project managed by the Vale Youth Service and funded by the Children’s and Young People’s Partnership. The group is part of the Children’s Commissioner for Wales’ Community Ambassadors scheme The Rights Ambassadors project raises awareness of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)and the Children & Young People’s National Participation Standards.
Volunteers making a difference in Llantwit Major
Students from UWC Atlantic College recently joined our volunteers at CF61 in Llantwit Major to help with our new raised vegetable beds. They cleared, prepared and levelled the ground before adding the two raised beds made out of old pallets which they filled before planting.
Friends of Victoria Square Penarth dedicated volunteers making a huge difference
In Spring of this year, with the help of a dedicated group of volunteers, the commitments made when requesting a grant will have been completed. The group now looks forward to sustaining all these improvements and maintaining its strong volunteer base.

Cardiff and Vale Raynet plan community awareness presentations to community groups
The local RAYNET group for Cardiff and Vale of Glamorgan counties are currently arranging a number of Community Awareness Presentation Talks on what they do and their local operations, these talks are available on Monday or Friday evenings.
Public emergency alerts to be sent to all UK smartphones
A siren-like alert will be sent to smartphone users across the UK next month to test a new government public warning system. The test is expected to take place in the early evening of 23 April.
