A kaleidoscope of beauty

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) recently held its latest Annual General Meeting in its newly renovated and beautifully restored St Paul’s Community Centre in Arcot Street, Penarth. St Pauls’ stained glass windows were the mesmerising attraction on the day.

The AGM was a resounding success and was attended by over 50 people representing dedicated and diverse Third Sector organisations from across the Vale of Glamorgan.

Guest Speaker, Tom Bowring, Director of Corporate Resources gave a superb presentation entitled “A unique and Valued Relationship”. He emphasised the value of partnership working and the key involvement of GVS and the local Third Sector in the Council’s planning processes.

Rachel Connor, Chief Executive Officer gave a captivating presentation on GVS’ past year achievements.  Rachel reported on the key GVS services that local charities, community organisations and clubs hugely benefit from, such as and not limited to: funding support; governance support; volunteering services; practical services; health and well-being services including partnership working, GVS’ FoodShare project and its active community buildings in both Penarth and Llantwit Major. GVS offers superb low-cost venue hire to the public and organisations, so if would like to hire any of our venues in Penarth (St Pauls) or Llantwit Major (CF61), please contact us.

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) has measured its impact for 2022-2023 by recently producing its annual Impact Report. GVS’ small but effective team has produced some outstanding results in the past year, culminating in vital support to the vibrant local Third Sector organisations it serves.
