The Vale of Glamorgan Council wants to talk to residents about what matters to them and about life in the Vale of Glamorgan. Let’s Talk About Life in the Vale is a new county-wide survey of residents that gives people living in the Vale of Glamorgan the chance to share their experiences of public services, their priorities for the future, and help the Council better understand how to get more people involved in local decision making.

Vale Summer Event 7th July, 11am-1pm, King Square, Barry
The Vale Communities for Work + programme will be hosting a Summer Event on the 7th of July 2023 in King’s Square, Barry. The event is open to all ages and is aimed at all those living in The Vale of Glamorgan. It will showcase a range of options for them including further training routes, further and higher education, apprenticeships, employment, health, and well-being.
Congratulations Llantwit Major Arts and Crafts Group on another vibrant exhibition
Over the weekend of the 10th and 11th of June, Llantwit Major Arts and Crafts Group, who meet at CF61 on a fortnightly basis, hosted their annual exhibition in the main hall. The exhibition featured the work of a number of members of the group in a variety of media, from painting to patchwork. Much of the work was also for sale, from handmade cards to crocheted animals.
Sue Dickson, local artist, raises over £1,100 for MND Association
Over the weekend of the 3rd and 4th of June at CF61 in Llantwit Major, local artist Sue Dickson had an exhibition and sale of her life’s art work. All proceeds were in aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association, a cause very close to the heart of the Dickson family. Hoddnant was open to the public between 11am and 3pm both days, with refreshments available for visitors.
Barry Camera Club Host Yet Another Very Successful Barrian Cup
On Saturday 10 June, Barry Camera Club hosted its 25th Barrian Cup. A prestigious annual event where Camera Clubs and Photographic Societies from all over Wales and the West of England come to St. Francis Millennium Hall in Barry to compete for this annual competition of printed photographic images.
St Athan Clothes Bank operating in St Athan and Llantwit Major
The St Athan Clothes Bank is delighted to be expanding to a weekly service in St Athan from 14th June. This enhanced service will be held in The Gathering Place each Wednesday from 10am til 1pm and will operate alongside the Community Cafe. This enhanced service at St Athan is in addition to the established busy weekly service at CF61 in Llantwit Major on Thursdays between 12.30 and 2 pm.
