RNIB is running a free Vision Friends Taster session for professionals who work with older people on Thursday 7 September at 10am. This 30 minute online session will introduce some of the topics covered in the Vision Friends Training.

Being a trustee can be a daunting prospect, particularly if a person has no previous experience. This training session is there to provide an informal overview of the role and responsibility of being a trustee.

If you are responsible in your organisation/community group for publicising events but have limited to no experience, this workshop is for you. By the end of the session you will be equipped with the knowledge and techniques to market your event effectively to the local community.

This session is aimed at beginner level or someone who has recently acquired responsibility for their organisation’s social media channels. It will help equip you with the basic knowledge whilst ensuring you adhere to appropriate social media etiquette. Social media is a free marketing tool to reach out and engage with more people. Using social media appropriately and deciding on the right platform to engage with your audience is the first steps to success.

Dangos, the free online financial awareness training project in Wales, has been renewed for a third year by Welsh Government.  This year Dangos is extending from its basic and intermediate courses to offer more dedicated sessions:

-   Support for children and young people 

- Support for older people and those in need of care 

The Knap Art Group has a mix of students from total beginners, to those who have enjoyed painting for a few years. We have a course structure that covers a range of topics to keep you inspired, although it is always flexible depending on each students need and abilities. We aim to create an uplifting atmosphere of learning focused on well- being and fun! All welcome.

As the cost-of-living crisis continues, GamCare’s mission to raise awareness of, and support those affected by gambling-related harm, is now more important than ever.

These courses are all FREE of charge for Vale of Glamorgan professionals to attend and are a blend of face to face and virtual sessions. The courses have been commissioned by the Vale of Glamorgan Council as a part of the Welsh Government’s plan to strengthen Parenting, and reduce Parental Conflict.
