Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) has published an informative new resource, "Shaping Our Future Wellbeing and the Third Sector in the Vale of Glamorgan."

Twenty-five years. A whole generation. Looking back to November 1999, when I first stepped into Glamorgan Voluntary Services (formerly VCVS) as the Western Vale Development Officer, it feels like both a lifetime and a blink of an eye.

Clive Curtis joined, what was Vale Council for Voluntary Services, on 1st November 1999 as the Western Vale Development Officer. Therefore, that means that Clive has celebrated 25 years with the County Voluntary Council.  

The joint SORP-making body has today launched a public consultation on the next version of the charities accounting and reporting framework. 

The annual litter picking campaign runs until Sunday 6 April.

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is excited to announce the launch of a new, comprehensive fact sheet designed to help third sector organisations across Wales, particularly in the Vale of Glamorgan, understand and demonstrate their social value. 

Charity Commission warns charities about fraudulent messages recently sent to charities and trustees. 

GVS has today announced the launch of a new information sheet designed to provide clarity and understanding for the local Third Sector regarding the Vale of Glamorgan Voluntary Sector Joint Liaison Committee (VSJLC). 

The new club launched on 14 March, bringing together 15 players of all abilities. The club will meet every Friday from 5.30-7pm at St Cyres School.

GVS is actively tracking the UK government's plan to integrate the Regulator for Community Interest Companies (CICs) into Companies House. This move, part of a broader effort to streamline regulations, prompts GVS to emphasise the vital role of CICs in the Vale of Glamorgan’s communities. 

Home Access in now based at St Paul’s Community Centre, Arcot Street Penarth, working alongside GVS and is supported by the Vale of Glamorgan Council. The office is open every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning.

Glamorgan Voluntary Services (GVS) is set to undergo a smooth transition in its operational leadership, with the appointment of Kris Rees as the new Operational Manager, effective from March 1st. This announcement precedes the retirement of long-serving Operational Manager, Clive Curtis, who will step down in April.
